Leaving yearling animals alone this spring

We’re approaching mid may, and that means that you’ll be seeing more deer fawns, and other baby animals on the landscape. While they may look like they need help, Minnesota DNR wildlife supervisor Rob Baden says that it’s best to let nature care for itself, and leave them be.

Most deer fawns, and other baby animals are born from mid-May to mid-June. For more information about what to do when people find fawns or other species of young wild animals, visit the Minnesota DNR website at www.dnr.state.mn.us.
