In convincing fashion, the Goodridge/Grygla Chargers swept the Warroad Warriors 3-0 in Grygla Monday night. Although the first set was extremely competitive, the Chargers, scored the last four points of set one and never looked back. After the 25-21 win in set one, Goodridge/Grygla dominated set two. A 9-0 run (the longest of the match) helped the Chargers take set two 25-9 to take control of the match. Although the Warriors fought in set three, Goodridge/Grygla kept them at bay to close out sweep with a 25-16 win. The Chargers have now won 12 of their last 14 matches to start the season 13-3.

The Warriors played well in the first set. They had multiple leads and constantly kept pace with the chargers. Led by Attlee Larson at the net and Kelby Knox at the service line (who had 4 aces), the Warriors were right in. Despite recovering from a 4-0 Goodridge/Grygla run in the middle of set, the Chargers found a second one. Goodridge/Grygla scored the last four points of the set to win 25-21. Unfortunately for the Warriors, the Chargers would not look back from this point, and would trail at only one other point the rest of the match.

Set two was dominated by the Chargers. Up 9-4, they went on back-to-back runs of 5-0 and 9-0 to all but ensure a two set lead. McKenna Parnow was excellent on defense finishing the match with 20 digs. Brianna Severts and Izabell Horning also finished with double-digit digs, while Severts also picked up another 30 assists. Meanwhile on offense Ellie Hruby and Torii Anderson led the way each finishing with 11 kills, while Anderson and Sjulestad add a pair of blocks each. Everything went right for the Chargers while they executed at a high level to win set two 25-9.

The Warroad pushed back in set three. Knox added her fourth ace, while Ayda Anderson, Natalie Homme, Kathrine Brekke, and Libby Olafson all contributed. As did much of Warriors who did not lack for effort. However, the Chargers were too much to handle. Goodridge/Grygla kept Warroad at arms length and slowly but surely added to their lead until they secured their 13th win of the season.

For the Chargers they now move to 13-3 on the season and will remain at home the rest of the week. They have a matchup with the 17-2 Sacred Heart Eagles on Tuesday before closing out the week with the BGMR Gators on Thursday. For the Warriors, they fall to 2-12-1 and will remain on the road to face the Roseau Rams on tuesday before closing out the week at home against East Grand Forks.
