Real ID deadline approaching this week

People are scrambling across the U.S. to beat the deadline for applying for a Real ID. Not having one could pose some travel headaches after May 7th. KQ92 and the Northern Star 1410AM KRWB spoke with Lake of the Woods County deputy auditor Eric Tange at the DMV in Baudette and Roseau License Bureau owner Joedie Ziska and learned they both have seen an increased flow of traffic as the deadline draws near. Tange explains:

He clarified the difference between the Real ID vs the Enhanced ID card.

He was asked how long the processing would take for the new document.

He shared what documents are needed to obtain the Real ID.

There are other documents that can be used for travel in the event the individual does not have the Real ID.

Post office box addresses vs a physical address can pose a problem.

Another issue in the application process can be a name change.

The cost of the Real ID is $15.00. Questions can be referred to the DMV in Baudette at 218-634-2836 or Roseau at 218-463-1816.
