Stop Aquatic Hitchhikers this Fishing Opener

Its opening weekend for the Minnesota Fishing opener, and over a half million anglers from across Minnesota are expected to take to Minnesota’s 10,000 plus lakes, and rivers. Minnesota DNR Commissioner Sarah Strommen reminds these anglers to do their park in stopping the spread of invasive species to Minnesota’s lakes and rivers.

Once your boat is removed from the lake, Strommen says anglers should also disinfect and clean their boats, and she says there’s many different ways to do so.

For more information about Aquatic Hitch hikers and other invasive species go to the Minnesota DNR website at www.dnr.state.mn.us.
