WARROAD, Minn. — The Warroad City Council approved a right-of-entry request from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to access city property along the city’s flood protection wall.

The Corps plans to conduct surveys, borings and other sampling to examine portions of the wall and rods extending into it. Nine locations have been identified along the wall, and property owners in the affected areas have been notified. Warroad Utility Department officials said three or four of the locations are on city property and required council approval.

The survey and boring work is expected to be completed this fall. Officials said any major work on the wall would likely not take place for several years.
