Warroad River Place Update

There are a couple of classes happening next week that are among the many that will be happening at Warroad River Place in April. On Wednesday next week April 9th, Nancy Ellenson will be teaching a class in the art of Zentangle. On this week’s Warroad River Place segment on the Morning Show, she explained what Zentangle is.

The following day Thursday April 10th, there will be a “Kids in the Kitchen” class where kids can make a Peep House. Samantha Thibert from Warroad River Place was also on this week’s segment and says she’s looking forward to the class.

Badger FCCLA students advancing to Nationals


Several students from the Badger School FCCLA organization are advancing to the National Leadership Conference. Paige Rybakowski, Bethanie VonEnde, Emily Burkel, AND Avearah Hanson earned Gold on their FCCLA Star Event projects at the State Leadership Conference this past weekend in Bloomington. These advancers will be representing Badger at the National Leadership Conference held in Orlando, Florida, July 5-9. Hats off to Emily Burkel for being elected Northern Area President for 2025-26 along with Ava Warne as Northern Area Secretary. Kudos to Keegan VonEnde for serving as voting delegate at the State Conference and competing with Mackenzie VonEnde in an online event, instructional video.

CHI Lakewood Health receives funding

A recent allocation in state emergency ambulance service aid has afforded CHI Lakewood Health in Baudette the ability to acquire a new ambulance. Jeff Stampohar, president of CHI Lakewood Health explains their cut of the pie from 30 million that was awarded across the state of Minnesota for ambulance services.

Because they still had funds remaining from the $294,000 allocation they were able to purchase additional critical equipment.

CHI Lakewood Health has been an integral part of the Baudette community since 1950. the campus includes a 15-bed acute-care Critical Access Hospital, a Skilled Nursing Facility, and a family-practice Rural Health Clinic. Lakewood offers a variety of medical services, including Public Health, Physical, Occupational and Sppech Therapies, Behavioral Health, Telemedicine, Visiting Nurse and Ambulance Services.
