Anglers reminded to plan ahead of opener and stop the spread of aquatic hitchhikers

The Minnesota Fishing season kicks off this weekend, and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is reminding anglers to plan ahead to avoid potential delays at the boat landing, or at the license counter. DNR Northwest Minnesota Fisheries Supervisor Nathan Olson tells us more.

Olson also reminds anglers to do their part in stopping the spread of aquatic hitchhikers to our area lakes.

If you are planning to fish at multiple lakes this year, Olson also recommends that you wait five days for your boat to dry off before launching it in another lake. He also reminds us about the rules regarding used docks.

More information about fishing regulations can be seen on the Minnesota DNR website at www.dnr.state.mn.us.
